we wouldn't have to steal them....
Colonoscopes Stolen From Pa. Hospital
POSTED: 6:42 am PDT September 30, 2005
KITTANNING, Pa. -- Why would anybody want to steal devices used to examine the inside of a human colon?
That's what the Pennsylvania state police and officials with Armstrong County Memorial Hospital near Kittanning, about 35 miles north of Pittsburgh, want to know.
Somebody stole four colonoscopes from the hospital, worth more than $100,000.
Police in State College, Pa., who are investigating a similar theft at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in July, said there's an overseas market for used medical devices, many of which are sold through Internet sites.
State police say they have no leads in the Armstrong hospital case.
